Slabs and photos.
Taking photos of slabs for my website or eBay can be challenging. Sometimes no matter what quality camera I use, I just can't get the shot I need. Lepidolite's purple shades never seem to come out correct. Shooting it wet makes it too dark, and dry is often lighter than the material actually is. The above is a dry shot.
Quartz can often cause problems because the digital camera can't focus, and that happens with other white minerals, too. Sometimes I think I should use Photoshop to get the color right, and a light table for those subtle shades like those found in various obsidians.
