Adopt-A-Highway and upcoming field trips

So, after a nearly three year wait we finally got our Enchroachment Permit, and 1.6 miles of Highway 178 to clean.  The Caltrans Supervisor in Inyokern, James Teems, was really helpful, particularly in regards to being safe while picking up the trash.  We got a nice scenic section above the South Fork of the Kern River, at the mouth of Cap Canyon, and our sign will say FromMotherEarth.net - a nice bonus!
Attending Whiskey Flat Days this weekend, but then two great field trips coming up!  First I will be leading the Tehachapi group to my club's claim south of Inyokern.  Rainbow Ledge has wonderful jasp-agate in a rainbow of colors, much with druzy vugs included.  It's a good opportunity to go to this claim, as the club has closed it to the public because of greedy collectors in the past.
The very next day we join the fabulous members of the Lone Pine Club for a journey to the Panamint Springs area in Death Valley for onyx and agates.  This club's members have probably forgotten more collecting areas than we all know about.  I think Karl Zellner from my club might be leading us.
